Coronation Street stars were out in force to say a fond farewell to their cast-mate and Chester actor Ian Puleston-Davies.
Ian has filmed his final scenes as builder Owen Armstrong on the show this week, although he will be seen on screen until May.
On Friday night, (March 6) he headed out to private members’ bar at MediaCityUK with a host of his soap star pals including Brooke Vincent, Sair Khan, Hayley Tamaddon, Jack P Shepherd, and screen daughter Cherylee Houston and screen partner Debbie Rush for his official leaving bash.
Katie McGlynn and Kym Marsh were in glitzy ensembles for the bash - Katie in a stunning orange lace dress, while Kym went for glitter with a sparkling black jumpsuit.
Ian has been involved in some of Corrie’s most dramatic storylines in recent times alongside his long-suffering partner Anna Windass, played by Debbie Rush.
Speaking about his soap exit last year, Ian said: “I have been playing Owen Armstrong for five years and it felt like a good point to move on and time some time to focus on new projects. I have returned to my other passion of writing and in 2015 hope to put on a new play.
“I have had a fantastic time at Coronation Street and made some great friends. I certainly would never rule out returning to the role of Owen at some point in the future if I was asked.”
On screen Owen is soon to find out that his foster daughter Faye Windass is pregnant at just 12 years old, while he is also reeling from the arrival of his ex-wife Linda who has arrived back in Weatherfield to make amends with their two daughters Katy and Izzy. Soap bosses have not confirmed how Owen will leave the soap, but say it will co-incide with all the family dramas surrounding Linda’s reappearance and Faye’s birth.
His departure will follow hot on the heels of his soap daughter Katy Armstrong, played by Georgia May Foote. She filmed her final scenes on the show last month and will soon be seen leaving Weatherfield on screen.
