Film fans at Coliseum Leisure Park weren’t afraid of no ghosts as they turned out to see some classic memorabilia.

The iconic Ghostbusters car arrived in Ellesmere Port on Friday (July 15), to support the release of the franchise’s reboot.

Movie-goers were out taking photos before the first showing of the day at the Vue Cinema at 4.25pm.

There were also a pair men dressed up as ‘parapsychologists’ making sure the vehicle was spotless for visitors. It could even belt out the film’s theme tune from its speakers.

There were a mighty nine screenings scheduled for Friday evening with the car available for photos between 4pm and 9pm.

As seen in the original 1984 film, the white and red Ecto-1 wagon automobile was driven through the streets of New York catching ghosts.

The all-new Ghostbusters movie, with a female lead cast including Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, was released earlier this week.

Coliseum spokeswoman Rebecca Newsman said: “It’s without doubt that Ghostbusters is a legendary movie and its return to the big screen is really exciting.

“To celebrate this fun and hilarious film we had to match it with a fun addition to our cinema experience. That’s why we’ve called in the most famous item from the movie!”

So far the 2016 reboot, which has been directed by Paul Feig, has received mixed reviews.

Friday marked the first day of its big opening weekend at the box office.
