Excited families descended on Tatton Park for a feast of fun at the Geronimo festival.

Running across the bank holiday weekend, glorious sunshine brought a ‘fantastic’ opening on Sunday (May 29).

More than 12,000 people visited on the Sunday with another 5,000 through the gates on Monday.

Big names in children’s TV were showcased on the main stage, including CBeebies Mr Bloom, Andy Day and Swashbuckle. Justin Fletcher headlined on Sunday and Dick and Dom on Monday.

Different Zones meant that activities were grouped together such as the Pasture Zone, with a variety of animals with pony and donkey rides, minibeasts and ferrets.

A circus had its own tent with various performances over the two days with Dog Shows and Motorbike displays also taking place.

There was plenty to do in the glorious sunshine, whether you wanted to learn how to wield a lightsaber and take on Darth Vader or make a crown with fresh flowers.

Speaking on Sunday Geronimo director Simon Goldman said: “It’s been a fantastic first day at Geronimo.

“It’s also been a day of circus performances, motorcycle displays, dinosaurs and much more. And to top it off, we had brilliant sunshine.

This is the second year the event has been held such was the enthusiastic reaction to the first festival in 2015.

There were certainly no shortage of crowd-pleasing shows, activities and workshops on offer to delight the whole family.
