A visual and energetic new superhero play for children is on its way to Tarvin in March.

Tadpoles from Rochdale company M6 Theatre will be performed at Tarvin Community Centre on Friday, March 11 at 6pm.

The show is a brand new production about rivalry, strengths, weaknesses and superheroes. Captain Clever is good at code breaking and problem solving, whilst Captain Conker is super-fast and not scared of anything - except, perhaps spelling.

A tadpole catching competition challenges the dynamic duo to harness their strengths and overcome their differences. Working as a team, can they save the world?

M6’s artistic director Gilly Baskeyfield who created the story, said: “Tadpoles is an original M6 piece that will awaken the inner superhero in all of us, and explore the ways in which working together can make a big difference.”

The play, which stars Luke Walker and Emily Spowage as the main characters, is underscored with original music written by Tayo Akinbode. The voice of Mission Control is The Royle Family and Downton Abbey’s Sue Johnston and the set is designed by M6’s resident designer and production manager Joss Matzen.

The show forms part of Cheshire Rural Touring Arts’ (CRTA) spring season of touring taking professional arts events to rural venues and libraries across the county.

Tickets for the show, which is suitable for ages 5+ and their families, are available directly from the venue by calling 01829 741962 or by booking online at www.cheshireruraltouringarts.co.uk .
