With Christmas Day almost upon us, Santa will be making lots of stops in the run up to the festive occasion to take children’s requests of what they would like off him.

If your children have been good we’ve put together an extensive list of where to find him in and around Chester including dates, times and prices.

Grosvenor Garden Centre, Belgrave:

Friday, November 27, 5pm-9pm

Santa will arrive at 6pm and there will be a fireworks display, food and drink available, free candy floss, face painting as well as City of Chester band playing and a live radio roadshow from Chester’s Dee 106.3 FM

The Garden Centre will be open all evening with a 20% discount off all items purchased in store.

Daleside Garden Centre, Hawarden:

Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22 is the opening weekend of The Grotto.

Santa will arrive at 11am on Saturday to open his grotto and will be there all weekend.

The grotto will be open every weekend until Christmas.

£6 per child.

Breakfast and supper with Santa

Breakfast: December 19 and December 24, 9.30am. £7.95 per child.

Supper: December 17, 5pm, £8.85 per child.

Pre-booking is required.

Delamere Forest:

Santa’s Grotto will open to the general public on the weekend of Saturday, November 28 and will be open every weekend up until Sunday, December 13.

The Grotto will be open from 10am-5pm with the queue closing at 3pm.

Child entry is £5 per child. Adult entry is £2.

Blakemere Christmas Woodland experience:

Every weekend from Saturday, November 21 until Sunday, December 20 with performances starting at 10.15am.

Find Santa in the woods whilst meeting fascinating characters on the way in a theatrical performance that lasts one and a quarter hours.

Enjoy a children’s craft workshop, meet Snowy the owl, ride on Santa’s Express and embark on a traditional carousel ride.

Gifts will be handed out for each adult to take home.

Tickets are £22.50 per person.

Northgate Street, Chester City Centre

A unique addition to CH1ChesterBID’s ‘Chester Kidsmas’ campaign this year is an enchanting Santa’s Post Office on Northgate Street. Unlike anything Chester has ever seen before, the festive experience gives children the chance to write their Christmas wish list with help from Santa’s elves and then post their letters in a special post box before watching in wonderment as it flies all the way to Lapland! Inside the authentic Santa’s post office, children can even chat with Santa all the way from his home in Lapland and play interactive fun games.

Open from Saturday, November 21 and every weekend until Christmas, in addition to December 21-24.

Tarvin Sands Fishery and Reindeer Centre, Kelsall Road, Tarvin

Friday November 27-Tuesday, December 22, 1pm-5pm

Make your way through a beautiful winter wonderland before you take a seat and watch as Santa calls upon his fairytale friends to save Christmas in this magical musical Christmas spectacular.

There will be real live reindeer which you are able to feed as well as complimentary mulled wine and festive snacks.

You will be able to see Santa, receive a gift and have plenty of photo opportunities.

Tickets are £14.95 which admits two - one child with one accompanying adult.

Cheshire Oaks Reindeer Lodge and Christmas Tree Farm

Open November 28, 29 and December 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19 to 24

Feed the reindeer, watch a fun elf stage show and meet Santa in a all weather festive grotto. Have your pictures taken with Santa and the reindeer.

Adult ticket is £6.95. Child ticket is £7.95 which includes grotto gift.

Chester Round Table

Chester Round Table are bringing a festive Santa sleigh around the suburbs of Chester in the name of charity.

All donations will be going to Save the Family.

Santa and his sleigh will be visiting the following neighbourhoods during December and will be setting off at 6.30pm each time.

Hoole: Monday, December 7

Newton: Wednesday, December 9

Boughton: Monday, December 14

Vicars Cross: Wednesday, December 16

Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, Tarporley

The Shire stud farm, based in Cotebrook, has a traditional Christmas programme of activities planned – and you can even have breakfast with Santa in the centre’s cosy lakeside café.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a winter walk around the Wildlife Watch Trail and then warm by the log burning stove in the café. There will be plenty of Christmas gift ideas, as well as the chance to see the Shires in their winter stables, six mares in foal, and activities including ‘pin the rosette on the shire’, a Christmas colouring competition, festive quiz – and a best Christmas jumper competition

There’s also a chance for youngsters to have breakfast with Santa when he visits Cotebrook.

Santa will greet guests at their tables, chat to younger guests and they may even receive a gift when their plate is empty!
