Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies MBE will officially open a multi-million pound leisure centre in Northwich.

Although Memorial Court opened to the public earlier this year, the centre will host its official grand opening this Saturday during an action-packed weekend of celebrations.

Silver medallist Davies wil be the highlight of the weekend which features free activities for all the family and she will spend time meeting people at the Brio Leisure facility before taking part in an opening ceremony alongside Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) chairman Bob Rudd.

Cllr Rudd said: “We are delighted that Sharron Davies MBE will be joining us to officially open Northwich Memorial Court this Saturday.

“We want as many people as possible to come along and help us celebrate this special occasion, and join in the exciting free activities on offer.”
