A ‘wild winter’ is forecast at the Coliseum shopping park on Sunday (6 December).

The free ‘My Wild Winter’ Christmas event for all the family will enable people to learn how to look after garden wildlife this winter with the Cheshire Wildlife Trust.

There will also be live ice-sculpting with the chance to take part and exclusive shopping discounts, offers and competitions.

Taking place between 11am and 5pm shoppers of all ages will have the opportunity to find out more about how to look after the wildlife in their garden during the winter months and experience the live interactive ice sculpting demonstration that will create intricate sculptures of the nation’s favourite wildlife in ice.

Representatives from the wildlife trust will be talking to shoppers providing information on fun and interesting ways to help wildlife over the winter.

Charlotte Harris, chief executive at the Cheshire Wildlife Trust, pointed out, for example: “Otters are large, beautiful and charismatic species that can only thrive if we look after our rivers all year round.

“You can do your bit by taking care not to poor harmful chemicals down the drain and by supporting the conservation work of your local wildlife trust.”

Jo Francis at the Crown Estate commented: “The Crown Estate is always keen to promote the importance of biodiversity and enhancing the natural environment across our retail destinations.“

To mark the event retailers across the shopping park will be providing discounts and offers, including discounts at Carphone Warehouse, Costa Coffee and Pizza Hut, as well as buy one get one free offers at Burger King and size up your festive drinks at Starbucks.
