Ellesmere Port mayor Lynn Clare is to hold a Christmas fair to raise funds for her chosen charity of the year Macmillan Cancer Support.

Cllr Clare announced she would be supporting the charity at the annual mayor making ceremony held in May.

The event will take place in the Civic Hall in Ellesmere Port on Saturday, December 5, from 10am-1pm.

The mayor is inviting everyone from craft groups, charities, schools and luncheon clubs to Cubs and Brownies and many more to come and join her to raise funds together.

Cllr Clare will be running a tombola stall and to raise maximum funds is asking people if they would be kind enough to donate a gift, voucher or book their group to attend the event.

Tables will cost £10 each and all the money raised at each table will go to the group or charity concerned.

For any further information or to book a table, call 0151 337 4615 or email civicofficeellesmereport@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.

Ellesmere Port civic assistant Rebecca Newsome-Horsefield says she is looking forward to hearing from people soon.
