The annual festive fun that is the Chester Santa Dash returned to the streets of the city on Sunday 6 December.
Despite a forecast of strong winds through Sunday morning from the Met Office there was a strong Santa turnout.
That's all folks!
So the Santa Dash is over for another year. Well done to everyone involved, you can see our final report on the fun run.
Can you spot yourself?
See if we saw you coming across the finish line at the Santa Dash...
Back to the start
Here’s some video footage of the start of the Santa Dash as the red and white racers got going
The Santa Dash is all done and dusted now, but stay tuned for more pictures and info on who won the race.
See the clip below of Santas heading over the line in Lower Bridge Street. Well done all!
Too many Santas!
The finish line is absolutely packed with Santas now as they make their way over
We agree with Tony. Great turnout despite the inclement weather.
A crowd of Santas
Shoppers in the city centre can’t be seen amongst the red and white crowds...
And still they come...
The rain is pouring and so are the Santa Dashers across the line in Lower Bridge Street
View from the Rows
A dry spot. And a good view. Well done to everyone coming across the finish line now.
The rain is really starting to come down now, but our man Mike Fuller has found himself a dry spot in the Rows.
Santas get a bottle of water and a lolly when they finish the Dash.
Well earned we say!
Is this cheating?
We think a Santa must stay fully robed for the duration of the Dash...
Some of these Santas really went for it out on the route. Fantastic efforts.
Spot the Santa!
Great aerial view from our friend Tony here...
We have a winner!
This Santa clearly didn’t like the rain. He’s just a blur in our pictures. The 3k route was destroyed by this Claus.
The rain is beginning to fall in Chester city centre. Will the Santas let it stop them? Nope!
A strong contingent of Mums and Dads out with their buggies doing the Santa Dash this morning...
Start line crossed
Pretty much everyone on their way now. Go Santa go!
Already into Bridge Street
There’s so many Santas they can’t all fit on the start line. Now streaming across it...
While Andy Scargill has seen them on Bridge Street
Off they go!
And the Santas have set off in a blur of red and white...
On the start line
Here’s Rebecca and her new elf friends posing for a picture
Elf and safety
Just a few minutes to wait now. And the elves have turned up.
The faster Santas are being told to get to the front. Jostling for position. Beards being fastened.
On your marks!
Starters orders now for the Santa Dash. All the Santas assembling in a vast red and white throng.
Good luck everyone!
More than 2,000 runners are expected to be dashing around Chester. Be sure to give them a wave.
Not a bad person to give you some advice. Olympic medalist Rebecca Romero is talking everyone through the race.
Santas, Santas, everywhere
Fantastic turnout. Mike Fuller is in position down at the start line, if you spot him go and say hello and tell him why you’re running.
Plenty of Santa Dashers already limbering up before the 10am start. There’s going to be a flurry of red and white heading across the start line soon.
We think Nicola might have her eyes on a top 10 finish...
A sea of Santas
Plenty of people are out and about, blustery conditions but no sign of any rain at the moment.
