Families, friends and racegoers are in for a summer treat this Sunday (August 2) as Chester Racecourse holds its family fun day.

Chester Race Company will be bringing a whole host of fun and a little of the Riviera to the city as part of its 20th annual family fun day celebrations – in association with MBNA.

More than 30 tonnes of sand have been shipped in to the Roodee to create the pop-up beach which is located alongside the track on the open course at Chester Racecourse.

The beach was given the official thumbs up by little Archie Gale, five, from Hawarden, who was the first to take to the sand to try out the giant deckchair.
