Polo returns to Chester Racecourse this week, with the Roodee Challenge Polo tournament.

On Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5 four teams from Stella Artois, MBNA, ITC Luxury Travel and LDF will compete to win £10,000.

General admission is free on the Friday and £8 on Saturday (under 17s accompanied by an adult go free) and spectators are welcome to bring their own picnic or enjoy a bite to eat and a glass of fizz from the pitch-side shopping village.

Free entertainment for children on the Saturday includes a giant bouncy castle and bungee trampolines.

On both days, between every two chukkas played, ladies will have the chance to show those killer heels some action while competing to win a bottle of bubbly in the traditional stomping of the divots.

A prized silver cork will be hidden amongst the divots and the lucky finder will receive a bottle of champagne.

For those who fancy becoming the next polo superstar, Chester Polo Academy’s Equisizer will give you a taste of the action.

Once aboard a life size replica horse, a polo instructor will take you through the skills required, using mallets and balls.

Free to try, all donations from the polo experience will go to Wales Air Ambulance.

On both days, gates open at 11.30am with the first semi final at 2pm.
