Hollywood star Linda Gray will appear to our screens this evening (November 14) as she makes her first appearance on Hollyoaks .

Best known for her role as Sue Ellen Ewing in the 80s American soap series Dallas, the 76-year-old has joined the Hollyoaks cast as Marnie Nightingale’s mother, Tabitha Maxwell-Brown.

The actress is only due to appear on the show for a week, but if she proves to be a hit with viewers, bosses could bring her back.

Her character joins the show – which follows the loves, lives and misdemeanours of a group of people living in the Chester village of Hollyoaks – following the death of her husband Charles.

She has filled her days lunching with friends and going on the occasional date, but has never found anything like the sort of love she had with her husband.

When Tabby’s daughter, Marnie, played by Lysette Anthony, begins to suffer with her finances, doting son James calls his grandmother to help out with some cash.

But Marnie is desperate to hide her mothers visit from ex-husband Mac Nightingale after the former married couple have decided to get back together, which Tabby will undoubtedly approve of.

To butter her mother up before she asks for a loan, Marnie asks Tony, played by Nick Pickard, to seduce Tabby.

Despite his skepticism, he eventually agrees and Marnie bites the bullet and calls Tabby to confess that she’s back with Mac.

But, how will Tabby react?
