It's soon to be perhaps the happiest hour Wrexham’s ever had come November 1.

So get ready to raise your pint glasses and make a toast to Al Murray, as the UK’s favourite publican celebrates 20 years at the lager top.

The award-winning comic will be donning his stand-up persona of The Pub Landlord once more, bringing his stereotypical, right-wing, and unwavering patriotism to Glyndwr University.

His One Man, One Guvnor tour sees Al embark on more than 50 dates across the UK to commemorate an incredible personal milestone in the comedian’s career, which has seen him become a national treasure.

As The Pub Landlord he has performed at The Royal Variety Show, hosted BBC’s Live at the Apollo, and released six best-selling live DVDs.

Under the landlord, Al has also written two best-selling books, notably his first title, the Book of British Common Sense sold more than 300,000 copies.

Sold out shows at arenas across the UK and overseas in the likes of Melbourne, Sydney, Montreal and New Zealand have cemented his status as one of the greatest stand-up comics of all time.

When he’s not mocking the French or lambasting politicians, Al is the host of Seven Day Sunday on BBC Radio 5, a guest star on QI and Have I Got News For You, and has a role on CBBC’s Horrible Histories.

The Pub Landlord comes to Wrexham’s Glyndwr University on November 1 at the William Aston Hall at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £25.50. For details call 01978 293293 or visit glyndwr.ticketsolve.com.
