The Coca Cola truck will come to Chester on Thursday December 3, it has been confirmed.

But there is still speculation about whether the city's Mid Winter Watch Parade, scheduled to take place the same day, will go ahead.

The famous festive truck will be coming to Eastgate Street on its way back from Cardiff, sometime between 12 - 8pm. Since Cardiff and Chester are the only two places scheduled for that day according to the Coca Cola website , it's likely we will see it in Chester towards the end of the day.

The annual Watch parade is still listed to take place in the city centre from 7.30pm on December 3, despite speculation it has been cancelled. The Chronicle has continued to try and get confirmation about the parade from Cheshire West and Chester Council but we still have not been provided with specific details.

There had been much speculation about whether or not the Coca Cola truck would be coming to Chester at all, and the website set tongues wagging on Friday by announcing a list of locations the famous festive truck would be stopping at in December, including Chester, but then appeared to mysteriously remove the page from their website an hour later.

There had been mixed reaction to the prospect of its visit on the Chester Chronicle Facebook page, with some readers branding it 'a bland choice'.

Will Riding wrote: "Chester is about community events, not advertising stunts," whereas Mark Groves said: "To me Christmas is about family and my kids are more interested in the coke truck than community events which are only for one group of people."

It will be the first time in recent years that the truck has visited Chester, and will move on to Liverpool, then Swindon the next day.
