The second day of the Boodles May Festival got off to a rainy start, but the sun shone at last for racegoers to show off their glamorous style for Ladies Day at Chester Races.

Former Liverpool FC and England star Michael Owen, who is a regular at the Roodee, was there for the second day of the May Festival with wife Louise while ex-England cricket captain Michael Vaughan looked smartly tailored in a blue three-piece suit with his wife Nichola.

Model and actress Charlotte Dawson - daughter of late comedian Les - made an eye-catching return in a daring shimmery low-cut dress, slashed to the waist and she could only look on and smile when one rather exuberant racegoer flashed in front of her for the camera.

There had to be one....

WAGs Jude Cisse, Chantelle Heskey, Claire Ridley and Claire Henry teamed up in a monochrome quartet but there was no sign of WAG Coleen Rooney or her husband Wayne, who can usually be spotted enjoying the event.

The big race of the day, the Chester Vase was won by Hans Holbein.
