Chester Racecourse will host the UK’s first festival dedicated to gin and vodka this summer.

Spirit lovers are invited to the Pavilion and Champagne Lounge at the Roodee on the evening of Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13 throughout the day for all things gin and vodka, as well as live music, street food and tasting sessions.

The national festival, held at various UK locations, is run by the Gin Vodka company and will showcase a range of 30 unique vodkas comprising of all kinds of weird and wonderful flavours such as marmalade, with more than 80 gins on offer.

All the spirits have been handcrafted with the finest botanicals and grains and there will even be a range of craft beers available for those who don’t fancy gin or vodka. Attendees will also receive a souvenir glass.

A statement on the Gin Vodka company’s website said: “Promoting the history and craftsmanship of both gin and vodka is at the heart of our festival and it's a great place for you and your friends to get together and enjoy your favourite tipple.

“We will have lots of history and facts about both gin and vodka around the festival and much more.”

Organisers advise ordering the limited tickets early to avoid disappointment and these cost £8 which include a glass, guide, pen and truffle. Drink vouchers can be purchased on arrival. The festival is strictly for over 18s and non-ticket holders will not be allowed entry.
