Upton Dramatic Society’s next production The Diary of Anne Frank, which takes place at Upton Village Hall at 7.30pm from March 18-21, includes three new faces.

Katie Cade makes a return to the society after a long absence. She had parts in the society’s 1979 production of Lord Saville’s Crime and the 1980 production of a Basin Full of Briny before leaving the area to go to university. In Anne Frank, she plays Petronnella Van Daan.

Her real life son Joe Wilkes plays her son Peter in the play. Joe, aged 16, has taken part in plays at Wirral Grammar School for Boys where he is a pupil and also been involved in punk rock at the Hammond School.

Alissa Austin had acting roles at The King’s School before going to university - she now takes the role of Miep Gies in Anne Frank.

Tickets for the play can be obtained on the website Uptondrama.co.uk or by calling 01244 382174 or from Bache Post Office or A41 Engraving Services at 137 Long Lane.
