The £37m cultural centre will house a world class library, café/bars, boutique cinema and state of the art theatre spaces.

Located next door to the construction site on Northgate Street, the Visitor Centre will be available two days a week for members of the pubic to drop in and discover more about the cultural centre, due to open in the autumn of 2016.

Project director of RE:NEW Graham Lister said: “We are really keen to engage with the public as much as possible regarding the new cultural centre. There is clearly a fierce appetite to find out more about what it will look like, programme ideas and opportunities to get involved - the visitor centre will be a great hub for people to feel involved and inspired.”

As well as information panels detailing the kind of activity that will happen in the centre, a scale model is also available to view and some of the artefacts that were unearthed during the archaeological dig that took place late December 2014, before construction works began. Plus a member of the team will be on hand to answer any queries.

The Visitor Centre will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2-4pm, it is free to drop in.
