Cheshire's original 48 hour film challenge is set to return as part of WayWord, the new festival for young people, and this time, the challenge will be bigger than ever.

Chester Performs, the producers behind the new festival, are looking for teams to take part in the exhilarating two-day film-making challenge.

Teams of up to five members will have just 48 hours to script, shoot and edit a two minute film.

The film brief will be set at a special workshop at 10.30am on Saturday, February 15.

This workshop will take place in three locations simultaneously as it is transmitted live across the county.

The workshop venues to receive the transmission are Chester Town Hall, Winsford Library and Ellesmere Port Library.

Expert advice will then be on hand over the course of the weekend to provide help and tips and completed films must be submitted by the end of the 48 hours.

Once submitted, films will be screened at the three venues throughout the festival, where the public will be able to vote for their favourite.

Voting is also set to take place online at www.wayword.co.uk.

The winning team will be announced at a special prize-giving screening at Chester Town Hall, 6pm on Friday, February 21 when all of the films will be up on the big screen.

The challenge is open to groups and individuals; teams can be up to five people and must include at least one person under 25. The only other requisite is energy, enthusiasm and ideas.

You will need to attend one of the workshops to receive your brief.

You will also need to provide your own equipment to make your movie on; this could be your mobile phone, digital camera, or even animation software.
