Chester Little Theatre is delighted to welcome back a rising star for their next production, Entertaining Mr Sloane by Joe Orton.

The role of the eponymous Mr Sloane is to be played by John Henry who last November wowed Little Theatre audiences in the role of Alan Turing in Breaking the Code, receiving standing ovations for his performance.

“The role of Sloane is completely different to the hesitant, intellectual Alan Turing,” said Joh. “I’m really enjoying exploring this new character. Sloane is a rough and ready chancer, a London boy brought up in a home.

“But as well as being a survivor, he has a lot of charm about him which means he can take advantage of someone like soft-hearted, lonely Kath, his landlady, or Eddie, his boss (who also fancies him!) and get away with it.

“Orton is a very witty writer. The play is a dark comedy but very funny.”

Entertaining Mr Sloane is sponsored by Risk Services (NW) Ltd Commercial Insurance Brokers and can be seen at The Little Theatre, Gloucester Street, Chester, from Saturday, May 9 and then from Monday, May 11 to Saturday, May 16 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £8.50, concessions £7 on the first Saturday, Monday and Tuesday evenings, obtainable online at www.chestertheatreclub.co.uk or by call 0333 666 3366. Booking charges apply.
