Chester Little Theatre in Gloucester Street will start their new season with Alan Bennett’s universally acclaimed Talking Heads which will be performed in their Salisbury Studio from September 29-October 4.

Bed Among the Lentils and A Lady of Letters will be performed by Marian Newman and Delyse Rostron.

Delyse Rolstron will play Irene Ruddock in A Lady of Letters, who compulsively writes letters of protest and complaints to everyone she can including her MP and local chemist!

Marian Newman will play Susan in A Bed Among the Lentils. An alcoholic married to an insensitive vicar she distracts herself from her marriage by conducting an affair with her local grocer.

Following on from this in their main auditorium will be Breaking the Code, a fascinating look at the life of Enigma code breaker in the Second World War, Alan Turing.

The season continues into January 2015 with the comedy farce Boeing Boeing, (January) Entertaining Angels (March), the black comedy Entertaining Mr Sloane (May) and Alan Bennett’s hilarious Habeus Corpus (July).

Putting on the Ritz is at the Opera House in Manchester this week, recreating some of the most famous song and dance moments of the golden age of Hollywood.
