Chester based Fallen Angels Dance Theatre have been invited by comedy star Russell Brand to perform at his latest book launch, Revolution, in London on October 20.

Artistic director Paul Bayes Kitcher said: “It is an absolute honour and privilege to be invited to perform at such a prestigious event as I really believe in the amazing work Russell does surrounding breaking down stigma regarding addiction. I have always been a big fan and this is a dream come true for Fallen Angels.”

Fallen Angels have just become a registered charity and as a celebration have just performed in front of 8,000 people in recovery in Manchester at the UK Recovery Walk and as part of the launch also just performed in front of a full house at the Lowry Studio.

The new work, Upon Awakening, explores themes of addiction into recovery looking into the struggles and pain people go through to be able to step into the light and recover.

Paul added: “We will also be performing in London this year at the Royal Opera House Clore Studio and as far as I am aware this is the first time that addicts and alcoholics have ever performed in such a prestigious theatre. What an honour this is for us.

“We have also had some wonderful people mentoring and supporting us like world renowned director and choreographer Kate Flatt and theatre and movie producer Robert Fox.

“We are so grateful to everyone that has helped us on our journey and it’s true in recovery things really do happen beyond your wildest dreams!”
