Chester Bach Singers are returning to Chester Cathedral on Saturday, March 28 for their performance of JS Bach’s Mass in B Minor at 7.30pm.

They will be joined by members of the 18th Century Sinfonia and four soloists, Rebecca Lea (soprano), Katie Bray (alto), Thomas Kelly (tenor) and Graham McCusker (bass).

Katie Bray sang with the choir in 2013 in their performance of Messiah and they are thrilled to have this outstanding mezzo-soprano joining them again this year.

She is fast establishing a colourful international career, most recently engaged as Charlotte Werther in the 2014 Grimeborn Festival.

This season, Katie makes her solo début with English National Opera in Joanna Lee’s The Way Back Home at the Young Vic Theatre, and in 2015, she will join Opera Holland Park as Mallika in the opera Lakmé and Opera North as Rosina in The Barber of Seville.

Bach’s great setting of the Mass mixes intricate choruses and captivating arias to create one of the pinnacles of the choral repertoire.

Tickets: £18, £12 and £6 (children and students £5). Call 01244 500959 or visit www.chestercathedral.com .
