Chester photographer Bob Hadfield will be holding an exhibition of his photographic work at Alexander’s Jazz Bar in Rufus Court in Chester on August 16.

Over the past few years Bob has been making a name for himself by producing stunning and original fine art photography images.

His work covers a diverse range from moody and very atmospheric urban images to vibrant celebrations of nature, or abstract and highly creative pieces.

Bob doesn’t feel he has a genre to stick to; he simply creates images which motivate and interest him.

He enjoys showing a different perspective on what he sees around him. Scenes which might be very familiar to the viewer are quite often at first glance not quite recognisable.

He has been a photography enthusiast since he was a boy and began taking it much more seriously when he got his first digital SLR. He was blown away by the quality and control it gave and has been honing his skills ever since.

Bob has also become an acclaimed photographer with his work doing ‘mash-ups’. He merges vintage images with photographs of the exact scene today, and decides which elements are used in the final image.

It creates a very unusual ‘looking at the past through the present’ image, which at first glance can often confuse the viewer for a moment, which is part of what appeals to Bob. Primarily of the Chester area, his mash-ups are becoming popular around the city.

The event will begin at 6.30pm and is free entry with the addition of drinks and canapés.
