After their sell out show at Chester Little Theatre last season, Cabaret Noir bring their night of 1930s inspired glamour and quirkiness to Alexander’s courtyard on Friday, July 25.

A Night in the Weimar Republic is a true classic cabaret – Berlin style, featuring songs, comedy sketches and burlesque inspired by the era.

Director and producer Lisa Miller said: “The film Cabaret has always been a big influence of mine. I love the way it beautifully balances glamour and frivolity with the darkness of contemporary history.”

Darkness and beauty are keywords with this show which has its very own Joel Grey style Emcee in the form Jack Malone.

Lisa added: “Alexander’s courtyard will be a fabulous place to host this show. The actors will be able to move freely among the tables and the audience will truly feel as if they are in a ‘Kit Kat’ style club.”

The show will feature songs from the film Cabaret as well as numbers by Weill and Brecht, and Marlene Dietrich among others.

Burlesque will be provided by Suzie Sequin.

Tickets for the show are £10 on the door, £8 in advance. Call 01244 340005 or visit www.alexanderslive.com.
