Alexander's in Chester will be reviving the 60s Mod scene at ModFest from June 20-22.

This outdoor festival brings music and motors to Alexander’s in Rufus Court in a celebration of the Mod style for three days.

Kicking it off on Friday are The Targets, a three piece punk band from Winsford, covering  The Who and Small Faces, as well as doing their own brand of angst-driven mod-punk.

The Kinx take up the baton on Saturday night, a group whose cover of Waterloo Sunset has been featured in the soundtrack of the French film Boule et Bill.

The Sounds of Simon take the tempo down indoors on the Sunday night in a set put together to evoke the New York coffee house scene.

“This is a chance to hear the songs as they originally sounded,” said Adam Ellis who plays Art in the band. “Just two voices and a hushed room.”

Tickets are £7 in advance and £9 on the door. Call 01244 340005 or visit www.alexanderslive.com.
