It is an unusual thing to take on a host of different identities as a career.

But this is something that Susie Sequin takes in her stride.

One day Susie could be singing at a corporate black tie meal in the guise of the beautiful but doomed 1950s starlet; the next she could be singing as Stevie Nicks or hosting her own brand of Looking Glass Burlesque evenings.

Suzie said: “It’s also good business sense as I have a number of different acts to offer which means a broader client base, but it also means I get to do all manner of quirky and interesting things in my line of work.”

Last year Suzie was on stage performing burlesque with The Proclaimers as part of the acoustic festival of Britain in Uttoxeter and the year before that was invited to sing Happy Birthday as Marilyn Monroe to the Mayor of Rufford.

So what’s in store for the future ?  “In October I am going to Paris to perform in the Wunder Kabarett – something I am really excited about.”

Much sooner than that Suzie will be hosting a Looking Glass burlesque evening at Alexander’s in Rufus Court, Chester, on Sunday, June 8, presenting a variety of acts, from magicians to singers to burlesque artists.

It promises to be a night of glamour, fun and spectacle, all with the evocative theme of Once upon a Disney.

Tickets are £6 in advance £8 on the door.  Doors at 8pm. Show at 9pm. To book call 01244 340005 or visit www.alexanderslive.com.
