EMERGENCY teams were called to a man threatening to jump off Grosvenor Bridge, Chester, on Sunday morning. Police, fire and ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene following concerns for the welfare of the man. They were able to convince the man to step away from the edge of the bridge after nearly three hours. A Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "A temporary road closure was implemented while officers attempted to speak to the man who was on the wrong side of the bridge. "At 5.50am, the man moved down off the bridge. He was detained under the Mental Health Act and was taken to hospital for assessment." The A483 Grosvenor Road was reopened shortly after. Read
