TENNIS: JUNIOR members of Nantwich Tennis Club will learn whether they will represent the club in a national league next week.

The youngsters will take part in two special training sessions during half-term in a bid to win places in the U12, U14 and U16 teams which will compete in the National Junior Club League, where singles and doubles matches are played against other Cheshire clubs.

Club spokesman David Farrell said it is an important time for the youngsters. He added: 'Nantwich Tennis Club has always had great success in this competition in the past, having reached the semi-final and final of the Boys U12 event in 2004 and 2005.'

Meanwhile, a Junior Raw Slam Competition will take place at the club, off Middlewich Road, on Saturday, February 25.

An all-year-round programme of coaching is available. Mini-tennis for four to eight-year-olds takes place indoors at Malbank High School, while a variety of courses are run outdoors at the Club.
