WHITBY High School served up success at a regional volleyball competition.

The school’s under 15s boys team won the Manchester Let’s Play Volleyball event at Leigh Sports Village. More than 120 teams from schools across the North West took part.

Whitby won all their fixtures as they progressed through their group and into the knockout rounds.

The competition, which was backed by football’s Premier League 4 Sport Project, saw Whitby take on a school representing Blackburn Rovers FC in the final. The Ellesmere Port team, which has close links with Chester Volleyball Club, won 21-19.
