A CATCH of specimen bream landed John Vickers victory in a match fished on the little mill pool at Cotebrook, Tarporley, on Sunday.

Vickers' total of 19-11-0 included three bream between 5-0-0 and 6-0-0.

Cliffe Wakefield was second with all rudd for 11-12-0, with Paul Roden third on 7-11-0.

Ian Roberts was the only weigher in the Monday night match on Little Budworth pool.

Roberts took a single common carp weighing 5-6-0 to double sweetcorn.

Victory went to Malcolm Davies in Saturday's Airbus Broughton AC match on the Cudmore Fishery.

His catch of carp weighing 52-1-0 proved better than Bob Asher (49-9-0).

Graham Knox chalked up a win in the Capenhurst Flyfishers match on the Penycae Reservoir.

Knox's catch of three rainbows weighed 6-4-0 and fell to a dialbach. Jack Wilson followed with the same catch for 5-15-0 to beat Ian Swetenham on 5-0-8.

The Willaston AC are running an open match on Sunday, on the Shropshire Union Canal. They will draw in the lay-by in Waverton at 8.30am with entry £10. Blood-worm and jokers are banned.

Ian Brocklehurst won the day when Rivacre AC fished on the Cudmore Fishery. With carp, chub and barbel, his 53-0-0 easily beat Dougie Walsh on 38-0-0 of the same and Steve Boyle plus Ian Lloyd, both with 36-0-0.

Ian Woods took the honours in the Cheshire Police Flyfishers match. His catch of five brownies came to a total of 9-8-0 beating Gary Towles with four brownies for 8-5-0.

Victory went to Cyril Knobbs in the Salt-ney Social AC match on the Milton Green Fishery. His total of 23-0-0 put him clear of Lee Lloyd.

Royal Mail Chester AC shared the same venue when Peter Hodge netted first.

He also took a mix of small fish to weigh 13-4-0 to beat Ian Jones ( 8-10-0).

Linda Cooke just made first in the midweek evening match of the Lobol AC, which was fished on their priory pool. Taking skimmers and roach, she weighed in with 7-1-0 to edge past Kevin O'Hanlon (7-0-0).

Top rod in their Sunday match on the same venue was Geoff Selby, having ide and skim-mers weighing 5-12-0 which was too good for Danny Boothroyd (5-9-0).

Mike Shuttleworth won the Helsby Sports and Social Club AC match on the BICC pools, his catch of chub weighing 19-12-0 beating Mike Cowley (13-3-0).

Tom Hardy reeled in first in the Neston Match Anglers match on the Burton Mere Fishery. Ending with a mixed 9-8-0 put him clear of Dave Roberts on 8-9-0 of carp and Steve Smith with 5-10-0.

Alan Bruce was top rod in the Thursday open match on Lingmere Fishery. His 76-8-0 of carp beat Dave Randles senior on 56-10-0 and Dave Lawrence on 39-3-0.

Bruce also won the venue's Saturday match, taking carp to weigh 70-0-0. That was enough to beat Sid Robinson with 44-0-0 and Frank Cooke on 38-6-0.

Winner of Sunday's festival match, also at the Lingmere Fishery, was Colin Cooke with 101-13-0 of carp.

Mike Wilkinson (53-10-0) was second and Jimmy Dewhurst (47-4-0).

Andy Griffiths won the midweek match on the Tarvin Sands Fishery. Ending with mainly skimmers, his 29-8-0 haul proved better than Wendy Locker (24-4-0).

Top weigher in their Saturday match was Robbie Woods with 31-6-0 of carp and bream that saw off Steve Beaumont with 27-6-0.

Keith Beam landed first in the Saturday open match at the Hampton Springs Fishery. He took a mixed 74-14-0 to finish ahead of Kevin Williams with 74-5-0.
