TWIN sisters on the Oasis junior weightlifting team brought home a clutch of titles from the NWC Schools Championship.

Natasha and Coral Bruce were the girls in question.

In the 35kg bodyweight category Natasha came first with 23 points while Coral was just pipped, settling for second place in the 40kg with 93 points.

The competition in Audenshaw High School in Tameside allowed the boys to shine too.

In the 35kg bodyweight category, the Ellesmere Port- based Oasis club saw Ashley Bolger score 120pts for first place while Terry Watts in the 40kg section won with 113pts.

Tall 12-year-old Isaac Larkin came second in his event in the over 62kg division despite scoring 288pts and Callum MacLean's 181 in the same division gave him third.

Finally, Dan Thorburn also in the over 62kg's came fifth with 166pts.

'It was another great performance,' said Oasis coach Gwilym Hughes.

'The twins did very well indeed as did Terry and Ashley, but the whole team deserves praise because they were all at the top end of the scores and show great promise.'
