TARVIN Athletic lost their goalkeeper to injury in the first half against Crossway – but still ran out 3-1 winners.

The Queensferry Sports Premier Division encounter saw Tarvin 2-0 up by the break through Gary Handley and Adam Crimes. John Park struck for Crossway but Paul Broster capped a fine Tarvin performance.

Waggon & Horses earned a narrow victory at home to Chester Nomads 2nds, winning 5-4. Two from Paul Joyner, including a 25-yard strike, and goals from Gary Ellams, Warren Roberts and Andy Bale were just enough for Waggon as Peter Fitzpatrick, Jake McCallum, Keiran Smith and Jack Delgado replied for Nomads.

Olympic Trophies Division One saw Chester Nomads 3rds line up against Saughall Thursday and the pair were inseparable, finishing 2-2, veteran John Roberts getting both Nomads’ goals.

A hat-trick from Dave Roberts set Helsby on the way to a 5-2 win over visiting Robin Hood. Mark Hobson and Mark Richards got the other goals, Jake Harrison scored twice for Hood.

In DevaWeb Services Division Two, Rangers Breaks beat Vicars Cross Doves 4-1 thanks to goals from John Mckie, Luke Rippon, John Beasley and Adam Birkett.

Chesterfest Division Three witnesses Halfway House Celtic win 4-0 at home to Frodsham Vets. Mark Tummon, Carl Caldwell, Aaron Dowlin and John Neary all got on the scoresheet.

Saughall Thursday Reserves lost 4-1 at home to Kelma, who scored through Kevin Miller, Simon Tierney, Richard Boyd and Dave Hunting. Willaston Nomads showed no mercy to West Meters, beating them 8-0. Antony Jones, Tom McMahon (3), John Lloyd (2) and Mark Bentley (2) netted.
