SWIMMERS from Chester shone in the Steel City.

The City of Chester Swimming Club had five members in action at the City of Sheffield No Frills meet – and they all produced lifetime best performances.

Two swimmers reached finals in what was an extremely tough field with numerous British best times being set.

Isobel Thwaite, 12, delivered the performance of the weekend, winning five gold medals, one silver and one bronze with every swim resulting in a new lifetime best.

She also qualified for the British Championships in five events.

Of these five, Issy is ranked number one for her age group in the 100m back crawl, number two in the 200m back crawl and is also in the top 10 for the 400m freestyle.

Nicola Ball, 15, swam new personal best times in the 100m back crawl to finish fifth and was sixth in the 200m back crawl, gaining British Championship qualifying times in both.

Other personal best times included Amy Fell, 14, in the 100m freestyle, Georgina Roberts, 15, in the 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley, with Dan Morgan, 16, swimming in the 200m back crawl.
