A YOUNG swimmer gained national success at the Welsh Swimming Championships.

King’s School Chester pupil Sam Wild, from Mold, is now ranked eighth for his agegroup in the UK 100m freestyle after his dynamic display at the National Pool in Swansea.

Sam, 11, competed in the 100m freestyle, 100m and 200m backstroke at the championships and achieved personal-best times for all three events in the 11-12 year agegroup.
