SPORTS fans will soon be able to get their hands on tickets for the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The London Organising Committee has confirmed that tickets will go on sale on March 15 while Paralympic Games tickets will be available from September 9.

The process for Olympic Games tickets will be open for six weeks, enabling people to consider their options before making their final choices and submitting their application.

Applications will close on April 26 and can be made at any time during the six-week period and it is not on a first come, first served basis. Oversubscribed sessions will be allocated via a ballot process.

The organising committee will announce full details of the purchasing process and the finalised schedule for all 650 sessions next month.

The two million people who have already signed up to the London 2012 ticketing database – www.tickets.london2012.com – will receive all the information about how to apply.

Those who have registered will be able to use their existing log-in details to access the application process.

Anyone interested in attending next year’s Olympic Games should sign up at www.tickets.london2012.com

Further details of the application process for Paralympic Games tickets will be announced later this year, with prices announced in May 2011.
