RILEY’S Division leaders Christleton B visited second- placed St Saviour’s in the Chester Snooker League and managed to hold on for a win to retain top spot.

Paul Ellis got the home side off to a good start with some very consistent potting but the unbeaten Andy Mumford pulled the leaders level.

In the match of the night, Wayne Amey beat Alex Ferguson. Amey’s lead was clawed back by Ferguson, but after forcing Ferguson to concede 20 points in a difficult frame Amey cleared the table for victory.

Chris Hesketh and anchorman Tony Cook also won to give Christleton a 4-2 win.

Utd Services had a clean sweep against Liberal, giving them a very welcome six points.

In The Olympic Trophies Division, leaders Broughton Wings were held to a 3-3 draw at home to Conservative C.

Darroch Mackie beat George Lofthouse to put the home side ahead and young Jamie McMahon beat the very experienced John Wells, but wins for Dave Burns and captain Tom Donnelly levelled the match for Cons.

Cheshire County Officers took advantage of their home fixture against Conservative B.

Martin Peaker put the Cons ahead but they did not win another frame until the last one as CCO took a 4-2 win.

In the Will Parry matches, Barry Charker (Christleton A) beat Chris Dixon (Upton) with the help of a 44 break, Finn Gallagher (Christleton B) overwhelmed Lee Stephens (Riley’s), Mattie Done (Christleton A) had too much for Paul Hughes (St Saviour’s) and Joey Wynne (Christleton A) was too good for David Done (Christleton A) while Brian Morgan (Cons A) beat team-mate Andy Short.
