TABLE TENNIS: Norton A's amazing winning streak continued with their 14th straight victory in the Crewe and District Table Tennis League Division One. Jim Mason, Ed Kuhn and Pete Smith were all unbeaten in a 10-0 demolition of Post Office C.

Post Office A kept up the chase on the leaders with a 9-1 win over Post Office D thanks to Bernard Thorley's and Neil Williams' maximums and a brace of wins from John Stoneley. The only response came from the bat of Dave Prince for the D team.

The fight for top spot in Division Two remains intense. Leaders Norton B stay in pole position following their 8-2 win over Post Office G, but they have played more games than their rivals.

Three wins for Steve Foster and two wins each for Steve Stirland and Pete Foster overcame the G side, for which Lee Rickard got a double.

Post Office F returned to winning ways with a 10-0 romp over Civic TT. Mel Green, John Stewart and Shaun Devaney all proved too experienced for the youngsters from Civic.

FOOTBALL: Ex-Liverpool and Spurs footballer Neil Ruddock will be the guest speaker at Sandbach United's sportsman's dinner at Crewe Alex FC on Friday, April 8.

'Razor' will be joined by comedian Shaun Styles and a professional compere at the event, designed to support the club which has 30 teams ages five to veteran.

For £1,500 people can sponsor the event. They will receive 20 tickets, 10 bottles of quality wine, a full-page advertisement in the programme, a framed photograph with Neil Ruddock and a link on the SUFC website.

CRICKET: Audlem Cricket Club is planning to have a six-a-side cricket tournament on Sunday, July 17. The day will include a BBQ and space for children to play.

A club spokesman said: 'We are looking for sides for a good fun day. It doesn't matter if you've never played before.'

BADMINTON: The Crewe and District Badminton League has released the dates for its Senior Open Tournament.

The singles competition with take place on Wednesday, April 13, at the Legends Club, 7pm. The doubles (10am) and mixed doubles (1pm) are on Saturday, April 9, at Alsager Leisure Centre. The finals are on Saturday, April 16, 7:30pm.

The closing date for entries is Monday, April 4. Cost is £6 per player, (£5 per doubles player) per event.
