Running: Strong turnout from Chester Triathlon Club at Northern Cross Country Championships

DESPITE snow and ice which cancelled the Southern Cross Country Championships, the Northern Championships went ahead at Knowsley Safari Park.

There were almost 600 hardy souls in the men’s race and more than 200 in the women’s.

Chester Triathlon Club’s fastest finisher over the 12k course was Duncan Harris (48:16), with Kevin Dandy (56:59) and Nick Rose (59:49) both finishing under an hour.

They were followed by club colleagues Ryan Willis (1:02.02), Ray Tran (1:09.12), Neil Jenkins (1:16.07) and Jim Barrow (1:27.09).

Overall, the Chester Tri men’s team finished 46th, with the club’s only female competitor, Kirsty Seddon, finishing 68th in the 8km women’s race, in 38:06.
