ELLESMERE Port Rugby Club will open its doors to past players and potential new recruits this Saturday.

The club is hosting a recruitment and retention day to coincide with the match against Holmes Chapel at Whitby Sports and Social Club.

Oilers old boys, as well as people interested in taking up rugby, are invited to watch the game then enjoy some after-match food and refreshments. Kick-off is 3pm.

Club secretary Mark Davies said: “The focus is on building the adult section of the club in a push to retain three senior teams and establish a veterans team.

“Anyone who wishes to get back into rugby having drifted away, or who wants to begin rugby, is welcome on the day.”

The club caters for players of all ages and abilities. They have age group teams operating from under sevens level to U17s.

Club officials would also welcome anyone who may want to help out as a volunteer or who may be interested in coaching at any level.
