TABLE TENNIS: Pulford had a convincing victory in their first division game in the Chester and District League.

They gave Gwersyllt an 8-2 beating with veteran Alf Perry winning his three games. Bernard Carter made his debut for the Welsh club and won two games.

Beechwood played a rearranged game against Hoole and beat them 8-2 with Geoff Willetts winning his three games, supported by Dave Kay and John Bowen who won two each. Stuart Williams also won two for Hoole.

Hoole also played Pulford B, who won 8-2 with Alan Stobie winning three and Stuart Williams taking two for Hoole.

In the second division, leaders County Officers C won all three games. They beat Tarporley 8-2, Manweb 6-4 and Hoole 6-4.

County Officers B went down 7-3 to Barrow C and Barrow A beat their B side 7-3.

Hoole A had a 7-3 victory against Tarporley and Barrow C edged out Manweb 6-4.

There was only one result from the third division, Pulford C and Barrow D drawing 5-5. Bill Jones won three singles for Pulford and teamed up with Sylvia Dickson to take the doubles. Myra Morris won the other singles for Pulford.
