THE bank holiday weather played havoc with Jenny Tinmouth’s return to the British Superbikes at Brands Hatch.

The 33-year-old Ellesmere Port biker has come back to the premier class on a privately-entered Honda and lapped competitively during the practice sessions.

But Tinmouth was unlucky in qualifying, lining up 31st out of the 33-bike field after choosing the wrong tyres for the changeable conditions.

Race day provided no change in fortune as Tinmouth slid off on the formation lap for the first event, in a wet race nearly half the field crashed out of.

Tinmouth’s run of bad luck was completed as the second race was cancelled altogether because of an oil spillage and heavy rain.

Tinmouth will return at the next BSB round in Thruxton this Sunday.
