The 24-year-old from Frodsham was an extremely close second in a National Superstock 1,000 Championship thriller at Thruxton. It was his second race since breaking his back last October.
Jenny Tinmouth and Joe Francis also enjoyed weekends to remember at the Hampshire track.
Chester-born Tinmouth, 33, finished 26th and 27th as she completed a British Superbike Championship race for the first time.
Rising star Francis, from Backford, enjoyed two superb finishes in the British 125cc Championship. In his competitive race debut in the open-age series, the 14-year-old came seventh and eighth to sit sixth in the early standings.
