VAUXHALL Motors secured their place in the third round of the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup with a 4-1 win at Second Division outfit Blacon Athletic.

The Motormen were 2-0 up inside the first six minutes thanks to a Steve Cross penalty and an own goal.

Further efforts after the interval from Ray Redmond and Kevin Davies completed the visitors' scoring while Andy Owens replied for the Chester side.

Division Two outfit Capenhurst Villa pulled off a tremendous result by overcoming Division One Stork as Mark Murphy, Robbie Manning, Jordan Brearley and Jamie Fitzpatrick all hit the net in their 4-2 triumph.

It was also celebration time for Castrol Social who struck another blow for the Second Division after winning 1-0 at Linotype.

But it was curtains for Shell who went down 2-0 at improving General Chemicals and it was also the end of the line for Grange Athletic who lost out 3-1 to Pavilions.

Shell Reserves sustained their promotion bid in the Third Division after efforts from Lyndsay, Hamilton and Roberts secured a 3-1 win over Helsby Reserves.

Willaston are 10 points off the pace but have two games in hand and they kept in touch with a 2-1 win over New Brighton Reserves with a smart double from Darrell Sutton.

Meanwhile, Capenhurst Villa's second string dented FC Pensby's promotion drive after Andy Dawson netted in a tense 1-1 draw.
