A MAN and wife team led the medal-chase for Crewe Ju-Jitsu Club at a regional competition.
Mike and Lynn Crosby both grabbed gongs at the recent National Martial Arts Association Regional Touch Contact Competition, held at Winnington.
Mike grabbed a gold for sparring in his weight category, as well as gold for an outstanding weapons kata. Wife Lynn, a yellow belt, notched a silver medal in the ladies sparring event. And youngster David Brough, 10, added to the club's haul with a gold for sparring and two silvers.
Blue-belt Mike, a regular at the club coached by Sensei Alan Clarke - a fourth dan black belt said: 'We are pleased because we got triple the points we did last year and came fourth in the overall team event.'
Crewe Ju-Jitsu club meets at St Barnabas Church Hall in West Street between 6.30pm and 8.30pm every Wednesday. For more details contact Mr Clarke on 01606 784654.
