RUNNING: WEST Cheshire AC hosted their popular Round The Walls Race on Boxing Day as a maximum 500-strong field tackled the 4.2-mile Chester course, starting at The Roodee.

The race produced an international winner with German Zibi Szlufcik clocking 23min 31sec for victory while Wirral AC's Heather Lawrence was first lady home in 25:05.

Paul Frodsham of West Cheshire AC finished first in the vet-45 age category after posting 25:10 for 12th spot overall.

Other WCAC members in action included Bob Benson, 66th in 29:45, Tony Kennedy, 176th in 33:25, and Mark Povey, 200th in 34:16.

A special mention must go to Maurice Morrell who received a special prize for completing his 25th Chester Walls Race in the event's 32nd year.

WCAC's Charlotte Roach finished fifth in the Fun Run on The Roodee, in 6:07, behind race winner Matt Jackson in 5:14.

Other WCAC finishers included: Kerry Riley (6th in 6:12); James Ellis (10th in 6:18), Rebecca Grimes (12th in 6:46), Aidan Stoakley (16th in 7:18), Jennifer Kelly (22nd in 7:30), Zarah Hodder (25th in 7:38), Martin Radcliff (34th in 8:35), Sarah Radcliff (35th in 8:36), and Emily Clarke (41st in 9:11).
