SWIMMING: Handbridge couple Tom and Brenda Walker collected Great Britain Masters titles in Manchester last weekend.

Tom, in the 65-69 age group, won all three distances in the breaststroke and was second in the 200m backstroke, while Brenda struck gold in the 50m and 200m backstroke in the same age group and silver in the 50m free-style.

Brian Shenstone, also a member of the City of Chester club, won the 200m backstroke in the 70-74 group and silver in the 100m, while in the freestyle races, he was fourth in the 200m and 400m and fifth in the 50m.

Collette Hayes (50-54) was second in the 1,500m freestyle and third in the 50m.

Also taking part were Greg Banham, who was sixth in the 30-34 age-group 50m breaststroke and John Darby (35-29), fifth in the 100m backstroke and seventh in the 200m individual medley and 13th in the 50m freestyle.
