STUDENTS from a Chester club have been making the grade in Liverpool.

Junior and senior members of Shogun Ju Jitsu travelled to the World Ju Jitsu Federation’s Merseyside headquarters to take part in another successful grading day.

Youngsters who successfully achieved junior black belts were Luke Marney, Kier Westerside-Downes, Alex Jackson and Tim Hudson.

Senior students reaching first dan black belts were Steve Boswell, Nigel Edwards, John Worrall, Carl Williams, Gemma Ryder and Vona Parkinson.

Earning their second dan belts were David Taggart, Alex Green, Ian Bannister and Jon Carter, while third dans went to Joanna Bennett, Darren Jones, Pam Hughes and Melissa Hughes.
