RED Lion A dropped to second in Division One of the Frodsham and District League.

They lost at third-placed Helsby D and despite a 21-8 card from Dave Williams.

Grapes A hit the summit following a fine win at Pavilions A, while Red Lion B held on to fourth after a narrow home win over fifth-place Tiger's Head A (Chris Koral 21-4).

Goshawk A suffered a rare home defeat by Helsby B, Bernie McClean winning 21-5.

Kingswood B (John Hoey 21-4) were far too good at home for Chetwode A as were Castle Park A, who had to face only four players from Egerton A.

Three games were called off in Division Two but leaders Pavilions B went marching on with a win at Grapes B.

Manley A, with Dave Owens their 21-6 leader, overpowered luckless Pavilions E, while Helsby A and Goshawk B (Ted Rowlands 21-4) drew.

Halton A (Bill Marshall 21-4) had a full-house home win over Norton Arms A to go second behind Norton Arms B in Division Three.

Subscription B (Gordon Strange 21-2) were fine winners at Tiger's Head B and climbed to third, while Kingsley A defeated a high-scoring War Memorial at Top Road.

In Division Four, Pavilions D's Josh Harrington and Stewart Howard were both 21-8 home winners in the defeat of Manley B.

This puts them on top from Conservative Club B (Ed Carter and Dave Manley both 21-8), home winners over Kingsley B.
