SPEEDWAY: A THIRD Crewe Kings speedway re-union will be held on Saturday, February 21, at the LMR Sports and Social Club on Goddard Street, Crewe.

Invitations have gone out to former Crewe riders, including old favourites Dave Parry, Dai Evans, Barry Meeks, John Jackson, Dave Morton and Crewe-born Chris Turner, along with some who raced regularly at the Earle Street circuit with visiting teams - Taffy Owen (Workington), Dingle Brown (Rayleigh), Barney Kennett (Canterbury) and Pete Wrathall (Long Eaton).

Efforts are being made to contact legendary King Phil Crump, who is currently back in his native Australia with his racing son, Jason, but hopes are high that he will be able to attend - especially as he has been out of the country when past reunions have been held.

Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the fund set up for Berwick Bandits' young Argentinian rider, Carlos Villar, who was involved in an horrific crash during heat two of his side's last match of the season against Newport in October.

His injuries have tragically left him facing up to the rest of his life in a wheelchair.

Anyone interested in attending the event can buy tickets by contacting Kev or Bet Tew on 01270 255807 or Alan on 01270 587269.
